Carnegie Supernova Project II
The Carnegie Supernova Project II is an NSF-funded, five-year program to obtain optical and near-infrared observations of 100-150 Type Ia supernovae located in the smooth Hubble flow.
The main emphasis is to obtain near-infrared light curves and time-series spectroscopy in order to achieve a distance precision of 1-2%, as well as to build a definitive low-redshift reference for future rest-frame infrared observations of distant Type Ia supernovae.
